Swedish Massage (Back to Top)

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines high-quality creams with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage (Back to Top)

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Lypossage(R) (Back to Top)

LypossageR is a proven method of body contouring that delivers measurable results.  It is a non-invasive natural health treatment that helps to cleanse the body of toxins and retained fluids.  LypossageR can be safely performed on most healthy individuals, and is much safer than surgical procedures such as liposuction.

Approximately 70% of your lymph vessels are located throughout the fatty layer just under your skin.  It is the lymph system's job to remove toxins and other wastes from your body.  When you eat more of certain [not so good for you] foods that cannot be broken down into small enough particles, the body stores the excess as fat -- under your skin -- cellulite being the "lumps and bumps"  of stored fat.  While this is not meant to be a science lesson, it is an extremely simplistic description of just how and why lypossage works.  LypossageR breaks down and "melts" the fat so it can be taken into the lymph vessels and removed from the body.  Liposuction will remove these same fat cells, but when it sucks out the fat, it also takes lymph vessels with it as they are intertwined.  Liposuction will give you more immediate, dramatic effects, while LypossageR will give you excellent results safely.  With exercise and a healthy diet, you can look like you never dreamed you could!!

The LypossageR treatment program is an 18-appointment program with an intake session to make sure you are a good candidate and to discuss details.  You will also experience an exit interview where you will be shown your results and receive recommendations for continued and/or sustained improvement.  Pictures and measurements are taken along the way to substantiate results.

LypossageR is beneficial both before and after liposuction for those who do opt for a more dramatic surgical result.

The above is not a medical advisement for or against any surgical procedure, nor is it intended as an anatomical lesson.  It is merely an attempt to describe how and why the LypossageR process is so successful.

Many studies have proven the effectiveness of the procedure, and the result is usually a loss of several inches.  A little homecare goes a long way in aiding the body in getting rid of excess fats and reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Elderly & Medically Frail Person (Back to Top)

Touch is a most important sense for the elderly as well.  This massage is designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly population.  It involves manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to help improve circulation and relieve pain.  Active or passive movement of the joints may be included also to help increase the range of motion.

Those who are medically frail -- cancer patients, those recovering from myocardial infarction, surgery, and other serious medical conditions are also prime candidates for the gentle touch of massage.  Studies have shown that in many cases, massage helps speed recovery and eases pain, and makes the infirmed person more comfortable.

While not a cure for a serious illness, and not all patients are affected equally, massage can offer relief from the discomfort of a hospital stay.

Infant Massage Instruction (Back to Top)

Infant Massage
is a style of bodywork designed specifically to promote the healthy development of your infant.  Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy thriving baby, and the benefits of massaging a young child are many, including:

  • Improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system

  • Strengthened immune system function

  • Regulated sleeping patterns, leading to deeper sleep

  • Greater levels of trust and intimacy between parent and child

Raindrop Technique (Back to Top)

The name of this process comes from the way it is delivered to your body -- the essential oils are dropped neat on your back, feet, neck in a manner that imitates raindrops!

A
Native American Lakota tradition tells of a tribal journey north to Canada to witness the Aurora Borealis (the northern lights).  This legend states that when they arrived, tribal members reached upward into the night sky while deeply inhaling the healing power from the dancing lights.  This tradition is the inspiration for Raindrop Technique.

This energizing technique has been used for years as a highly effective method for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body.  The essential oils used penetrate the skin and promote energy and vitality.  When applied to the neck, back, and feet, this technique can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body, especially those found in the spine.

Absolutely no jewelery or perfume can be worn while undergoing this technique as either will interfere with the energy from the oils.
